Moving home!

Time for an update - long overdue!

It has been a busy few weeks in the household lately, we have recently moved house and we still have plenty left to do! Also no internet for the next 2 weeks which has made blogging a challenge! But don't worry everyone - we have lots more to come....

Dexter has had a very exciting couple of weeks, he went on vacation to nanny and grandads to stay overnight whilst mummy and daddy moved into a bigger house. He had a lovely time playing with their golden Retreiver, Jasper! Then we bought Dexter and his sister Mollie to their new home. They were so excited with all the extra space and their new garden. They seem to both approve very much!

All in all moving house seems to have gone well for Dexter, he is a very laid back puppy and despite a brief moment of being scared of the ironing pile, he has taken to the new house like a saint! Mollie has found it tougher being a bit older.... however after the first night she settled again!

As for other things - Dexter has grown!! I will be posting some update photo's soon but he seems to have shot up - especially this last week. He hasn't learnt any new tricks yet but will be teaching him more soon. He has "sit" and "lay" down so far which is great for 14 weeks!

Must go now - time to get home and unpack further boxes....

Another first accomplished!

Today,  Dexter accomplished another first! For the first time ever he successfully jumped onto the bed - We have a low bed but still! It wont be long until he is up to sofas!

I think Dexter was as suprised as I was and his morning antics have left him completely tuckered out....

My Great Escape...

Hello Everyone!!

I had my first big adventure yesterday!

I was playing out in the back yard with my new big sister and she was explaining to me the concept of the "fence". She told me that there is a big world on the other side waiting to be explored! I was so excited, I couldn't wait to get a peep!

After listening to the tails of what lays beyond, my big sis took me to a small crack in the side fence, hidden behind a plant pot with her help, I squeezed through - It was amazing! all the different smells and plants! I don't know why my big sis didn't come with me, when I turned around she had ran back inside the the people.

It was a matter of seconds before big sis came out with the man of the house right to the secret entrance..... he called to me... he sounded nowhere near as excited as I was about this new land - I don't know why!! He seemed to be in complete panic, I guess thats why big sis didn't came with me....so I ran back to him in the yard and gave him a big kiss to make him feel better. He cheered up after that and we all went inside.

Today, as if by magic, the secret entrance has disappeared! I guess theres no going back but I'll never forget the land that lies beyond and I'll check everyday to see if the entrance comes back!

lots of love,
Dexter.

Week two at home...

Dexter has fast become part of the family and his second week with us has gone so fast - he has some exciting times ahead .... Dexter will be telling you about all of his adventures as and when they happen - He can't wait to start blogging!

Here are a few photo updates from week 2 - enjoy!:

Cockapoo Meet 20/05/12

For Dexter's first walk, we met up with 22 other cockapoo's from the local area and went for a group walk. As Dexter is only 11 weeks he had to get carried for some of the way but Dexter had a great time!

Playtime...

Dexter first week home...

On 04/05/2012 we drove for 3 hours to collect Dexter from the breeders and for the whole 3 hours back, Dexter was a little angel. He started in the basket at my feet but soon climbed on to my lap for a nap with his little tongue sticking out!

When we arrived home, Dexter was quick to explore the whole house. His little tail was wagging so fast as he got to know his home!

After Dexter had settled, his older sister Mollie, a 2 year old beagle, was introduced to him. Mollie was very excited and they got on straight away - Dexter couldn't resist giving her kisses and swapping secrets. The first day was a great success.

As the week went on, Mollie began to realise that Dexter was a permanent member of the family... which resulted in a complete sulk or a few days but by the end of week one she appeared to have forgiven mum and daddy! Dexter soon revealed a very curious and confident personality and by the middle of week one, he made himself completely at home!

By the end of the first week, Mollie seemed to have accepted Dexter and began to bond well with him. Everyone in the household was happy!

All in all a tiring week!!
